The Dunsfold Collection have confirmed they will be exhibiting at The Original Land Rover Show in 2017. The collection will be showcasing six of its most iconic vehicles to celebrate the events 27th year and its relocation from Billing Aquadrome to Kelmarsh Hall. The Dunsfold Collection of Land Rovers is a registered charity dedicated to the preservation of Land Rover history. The Collection was started in 1968 by Brian Bashall who realised that his love of strange prototype and pre-production Land Rovers was of interest to others.

The showcase stand will take pride of place in the heart of the event. Experts will be on hand throughout the weekend to answer questions and allow visitors to get up close and personal to these very rare examples of Land Rover heritage. The vehicles will also be taking part in a main arena display on both show days.

One of only 25 built at Land Rovers MCE satellite factory. The 1994 freelander test mule’s main purpose was on-road testing of the running gear in the most inconspicuous way possible, see if you can spot their cloaking technique!

The 1965 OTAL in the collection is a one-off prototype built for the Australian army, they never accepted it so it was returned to the UK. It took a full restoration in 2008 to get this buoyant vehicle into show worthy condition.

Fitted with a prototype V8 Buick engine back in 1967, the 88” is totally unique! It is one of three test-beds built for mileage testing with the V8 prior to its installation in the new Range Rover. The other two cars were broken up, making this the sole survivor of the vehicles that played an important role in the development of the Range Rover.

A real gem in the collection is the Range Rover Turbo D record breaker, otherwise known as the Beaver Bullet! This was the first diesel-powered vehicle to maintain a constant 100mph for 24 hours, break all diesel speed records for a 4x4! It still holds around ten records that have never been broken.

Easily the oddest-looking Land Rover in the collection, this Rover even has its own name, the Forest Rover. The huge wheels offer superb traction and excellent ground clearance, making a life of the forest floor a typical career for this model, hence the name. It took only a partial rebuild and a major paint job to get it to the condition you can see today.

Our off road course has been upgraded and is now situated just seven minutes up the road at the superb Avalanche 4x4 off road centre. The Avalanche Adventure tough terrain track comprises hard and soft ground, steep inclines, shallow and deep water, side slopes, axle twisters and an extreme wooded section. In fact, there is every type of terrain you are ever likely to come across. Vince Cobley and his experienced Protrax team will be on hand to make sure your experience is nothing else then excellent with suitable vehicles granted access to the extreme wooded section at no extra cost. It gets better – thrill seekers will also be able to book onto extreme activities that are available to book on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Anyone interested would need to give the centre a call to book in on 01858 880613.

Do you or another member of your club own a mini Land Rover replica that you could bring as part of our main arena display? Owners will be invited into the main arena to complete a small obstacle course with a view to getting as many replicas together for a group photo. We see so many driving around the site and thought it would be fantastic to get them all together for one big display.

The Parachute Regiment Freefall Team ‘The Red Devils’ was formed in 1964 to promote the Army’s elite Parachute Regiment in support of recruitment. Every member of the team is a serving soldier from one of the Regiment’s three full-time Battalions: 1, 2 & 3 PARA - with each having seen active service in The Falklands, Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan or Iraq. Since 1979 The Red Devils has been firmly established as the British Army’s official parachute display team and its members are widely acknowledged as among the best display parachutists in the world. Every year the team carry out more than 100 spectacular parachute displays at public events worldwide promoting The British Army and The Parachute Regiment (‘The Paras’).

In addition to displays, the Red Devils also help to raise over £500,000 for charity each year by carrying out Tandem Skydives with members of the public.

A classic Red Devils parachute display will see up to ten team members jumping from an altitude of up to 10,000ft. Trailing smoke to demonstrate their speed and movement, the highly-skilled skydivers will freefall at speeds of up to 120mph, before deploying their parachutes. Once safely under canopy, team members will demonstrate breathtaking, high-speed “Swoop” landings and spectacular “Canopy Formations” – both unique to parachute displays in the UK.

An informative commentary is provided throughout the team’s display and team members will be available afterwards to meet spectators. See them at the 2017 Kelmarsh Land Rover Show! Performance subject to weather conditions.

The Land Rover Hot Air Balloon

The new DTV (Dual Tracked Vehicle) Shredder is the first true crossover vehicle for action and sports. A combination of tank, skateboard and motorcross bike. Using the board in the middle of the DTV Shredder the rider can then use their bodymovements to steer and control the DTV Shredder. The DTV Shredder can reach up to 30mph but never mind the speed just getting used to controlling the DTV Shredder is tiring and challenging enough . The all mechanical design, powerful engine and aggressive tank tracks allows for high speed travel on any terrain, in any season. We supply the body armour and protection as required, also we supply helmets with built in bluetooth headsets to allow our instructors to communicate with the customer at all times. We have a purpose built practice track for you to navigate your way around. As your confidence grows you can then attempt our homemade ramps. We have the DTV Shredders at Kelmarsh Land Rover Show so all we need is you. Bookings taken at the event on show days.
